Single cell genomics completes the triumvirate of hot trends in genomics (the other two being liquid biopsies and spatial genomics). All three are driving a tremendous amount of demand for sequencing. There is a fairly broad range of companies that consider themselves to be “single cell”. Some focus solely on isolation of single (often rare) cells, while the more complete solution providers offer ways of analyzing the cellular contents in a highly multiplexed fashion. Popular applications for single cell analysis include transcriptomics, proteomics, tumor profiling, rare cells, and immunobiology. For companies that focus solely on CTCs, be sure to check out the liquid biopsy page. If you have any suggestions or comments, please email me directly or let me know about it on Twitter.
