Dr. Shawn Baker brings more than 20 years of experience in genomics, spanning advisory work, business consulting, research and development, product development, and market management.

His focus is on genomics technologies—including next-generation sequencing, DNA synthesis, and DNA editing—and their impact on diagnostics and healthcare. He follows technologies, platforms, and companies around the world, with an emphasis on the United States and China.

He helped Illumina grow from a 15-person startup into a leader in genomics and co-founded AllSeq, the first online sequencing marketplace.
